Señorío de Montanera's Iberian products have received several awards over the years at the prestigious Great Taste Awards, known as the Oscars of the gastronomic world, organized by The Guild of Fine Food, a renowned British association that promotes excellence in gourmet products.
The 100% Iberian acorn-fed folded loin has earned the highest distinction of three stars. The jury especially praised the folded loin for its succulence, its melt-in-the-palate texture, and its powerful acorn-fed flavor, accentuated by a light seasoning that highlights the essence of the pastureland. Its fresh, glossy appearance, along with the uniform ivory fat and delicate lean meat, impressed with its balance of sweetness, creaminess, and soft yet consistent texture.
The 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham and shoulder with Dehesa de Extremadura PDO also captivated the jury. The Señorío de Montanera pure acorn-fed Iberian ham was recognized for its impeccable appearance, aroma, and the characteristic sweetness of the acorns, which provide a unique and distinctive flavor. The 100% Iberian acorn-fed shoulder, meanwhile, stood out for its balance of fat and meat, with a succulent texture and a full, lingering flavor.
The organic salchichón recipe has also received top recognition in its category thanks to its excellent appearance, with uniform curing and a bright, healthy reddish color.
The 100% organic Iberian acorn-fed ham was also recognized for its prominent presence of infiltrations, which offer a smooth, natural flavor with a perfect balance between savory and sweet, full of nuances reminiscent of a diet based on acorns.
Finally, the judges praised the morcón for its juicy, deep flavor, which fills the palate with the unmistakable flavors of acorn-fed Iberian pigs.
