The best brand of hams in the world
We top the ranking of the “best ham brands in the world” compiled by the popular global gastronomic guide Taste Atlas.
The prestigious international guide Taste Atlas, considered one of the world's leading indicators of the best gastronomic products representative of each region, recognized Señorío de Montanera in 2025 as the world's best producer of acorn-fed Iberian ham.
Reference in global gastronomy
Taste Atlas collects and catalogs the world's finest culinary products with the goal of preserving and highlighting the authentic flavors of each region.
Therefore, this recognition reinforces Señorío de Montanera's position as a leader in Iberian haute cuisine and highlights the work of generations dedicated to preserving traditional Iberian pig breeding and the artisanal production of acorn-fed products.
As the only brand in the Top 1%, it leads the category of "The World's Best Ham Brands," whose ranking is based on awards, tastings, and opinions from critics, chefs, and consumers.
Certified production process
Control of the entire value chain, from the breeding of purebred Iberian pigs in the wild pastures to the production of the final product, guarantees the excellent quality and consistency of its acorn-fed Iberian products.
This certified process has also allowed some of its select products, such as the 100% Ibérico Bellota Doblado Lomo and the 100% Ibérico Organic Bellota Salchichón, to have a place in the international ranking of “best meat products in the world.”
We triumphed at the Great Taste Awards
This gastronomic competition, known as the Oscars of gastronomy, has recognized several of the stars of our Iberian pantry.
The Great Taste Awards are known as the Oscars of the culinary world and are organized by The Guild of Fine Food, a renowned British association that promotes excellence in gourmet products. They are therefore a guarantee of consumer confidence that they are looking at a premium product, whose exquisite flavor has been discovered through hours of tasting by hundreds of judges.
Cured Iberian Acorn-Fed Pork Shoulder 100% ("Lomito")
The jury highlighted the striking marbling of our Iberian pork loin, its meticulous artisanal preparation, finished with a layer of deep red paprika. They also emphasized its clean and well-balanced flavor, and the contrast provided by the texture of the fat as it melts on the palate.
The judges also praised its appealing presentation, noting that the meat melts in your mouth while still offering just the right amount of resistance when chewing. They particularly appreciated the touch of paprika, as well as the sweetness and mildness of its flavor, which combine harmoniously with the perfect amount of salt and the warm spices of its traditional seasoning.
Iberian acorn-fed folded loin 100%
The expert jury awarded the highest score in its category to the lomo doblado recipe thanks to its juiciness and infiltration of fat, whose texture melts into the palate, infusing the mouth with the purest flavors of the pastureland. Since it doesn't contain paprika, its light seasoning accentuates its powerful acorn-fed flavor, similar to the aftertaste left by the finest pure Iberian ham.
The expert jury also highlighted the uniqueness of this sausage, which lies in its completely artisanal preparation. It is made with the entire piece of loin marinated in garlic and salt, which is covered with a thin layer of lard. When stuffed, the piece is folded in half and tied with string to ensure its perfect maturation, which requires more than six months.
Jamón de Bellota 100% Ibérico with DOP Dehesa de Extremadura
When evaluating the Señorío de Montanera pure acorn-fed Iberian ham, the jury members highlighted its highly appetizing appearance with its shiny surface, and its well-marbled meat with very fluid fat.
They uniquely highlight its fantastic appearance and aroma, its infiltrations of fat, and how the palate immediately perceives the sweetness of the acorns, which give it the flavor that identifies a pure Iberian ham of exceptional quality.
100% Iberian Bellota Shoulder with DOP Dehesa de Extremadura
The shoulder shone thanks to its wonderful balance of fat and meat, with a satisfying and succulent mouthfeel thanks to the sweetness, full flavor, and lingering complexity it brings to the palate.
It presented shiny slices with a good percentage of fat and slight striations. The aroma is broad, suggestive of a good aging. On the palate, the balance between sweetness and salinity is pleasant and also suggests a long aging period.
Organic Iberian Acorn-fed Salchichón 100%
The organic recipe for Señorío's renowned salchichón receives the highest score thanks to its excellent appearance, with a uniform curing process and a healthy, bright reddish color.
The expert jury also highlighted its light, meaty, and pleasant aroma, with a hint of red wine, and its deliciously juicy texture, with an attractive mouthfeel thanks to the proportion of meat and fat, where the peppercorns add brightness to the flavor and a good contrast. It contains nutty reminiscences, being soft, meaty, and with a lovely sweet touch.
Morcón de Bellota 100% Iberian
It respects the typical recipe of the ancient traditional slaughters of the villages of southern Extremadura and refines its curing process in a natural cellar for more than six months, achieving the unique and exclusive nuances of this traditional gourmet product.
Its juicy, deep flavor, which fills the palate with the unmistakable taste of acorn-fed Iberian pigs, was crucial in the judges' recognition of it as a premium product.
Organic Iberian Acorn-fed Ham 100%
Señorío de Montanera 100% Iberian acorn-fed organic ham comes from organic farming and livestock farming, based on 100% natural resources that help preserve the environment.
When cut, its color is slightly darker, due to the absence of nitrites in its production. With a notable presence of infiltration, it offers a smooth, natural flavor, perfectly balanced between savory and sweet, full of nuances reminiscent of a diet based on acorns.
